Thanks to All who Signed the New GI Bill Petition
VETERANS
Missing In Action
On Monday, the nation will join its nearly 24 million veterans in remembering the American heroes who have lost their lives in war. Yesterday, the Senate honored U.S. troops by passing a 21st Century GI Bill, expanding educational benefits for veterans who joined the service after Sept. 11, 2001. "Congress today resolutely asserted that it is time for those of us who have been calling on these brave men and women to serve again and again to assist in providing a meaningful chance for a first-class future," said Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA), who sponsored the legislation. Seventy-five senators voted to fund veterans yesterday, providing a veto-proof majority. Yet not only did Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) not vote for the bill, he didn't even show up to vote (the only other senators missing were Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA), for health reasons, and Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), who had to attend a funeral). In the past, McCain has promised to "do everything" in his power to look after the nation's military. But a look at his record on veterans issues shows that he has unfortunately favored conservative pandering instead.
A COMPREHENSIVE NEW GI BILL: Yesterday's vote on the 21st Century GI Bill was 75-22. The legislation garnered wide bipartisan support, including Republican cosponsors Sens. Chuck Hagel (NE) and John Warner (VA). Under the bill, members of the military who have served on active duty since 9/11 are eligible to receive education benefits equaling the highest tuition rate of the most expensive in-state public college or university, along with a monthly stipend for housing determined by geographical area. It would also "create a program in which the government would provide a dollar-for-dollar match to contributions from private educational institutions with higher tuition rates than those covered under the bill." Despite claims by McCain and the White House, Webb's bill would help the military's enlistment rate. The new GI bill "is projected to cost about $2.5 billion per year," roughly the cost of U.S. operations in Iraq for one week.
DASHING HOPES AND DREAMS: McCain, however, opposes these generous benefits for troops' education. He instead signed onto a watered-down, Bush administration-approved version offered by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC). This legislation would exclude many servicemembers by reserving the most generous benefits for soldiers who have served at least 12 years. It would also shortchange National Guard and Reserve members, offering them fewer benefits. McCain likes to say that as a former soldier, he understands what is best for veterans. But his version of the GI Bill was opposed by the national commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), and the American Legion. More than eight in 10 members of the American public also support a comprehensive GI Bill. Kristofer Goldsmith, who served in Sadr City and was stop-lossed after returning home, testified to Congress on May 15 that he had attempted suicide and was discharged. Because he couldn't serve a second term, he had to forfeit his "one hope and dream" to go to college under the GI Bill. "And currently there is a Senator in Congress currently running for president, who is fighting to kill our Webb GI bill," said Goldsmith. "And I'm one of the soldiers who will never get that money."
FAILING GRADES: McCain's record on supporting veterans is one of the worst in Congress. IAVA has given him a grade of a "D" for voting against veterans' priorities so often between 2000 and 2006. A scorecard of roll call votes compiled by the Disabled American Veterans found that McCain has voted for veterans funding bills only 20 percent of the time. For example, in May 2006, he voted against an amendment providing $20 billion to the Department of Veteran Affairs's (VA) medical facilities. In April 2006, he was one of just 13 senators to vote against providing $430 million to the VA for outpatient care "and treatment for veterans." McCain has railed against comprehensive universal health care and wants to give veterans the "freedom to choose to carry their V.A. dollars to a provider that gives them the timely care at high quality and in the best location." But as New York Times columnist Paul Krugman notes, "[T]he Veterans Health Administration is one of the few clear American success stories in the struggle to contain health care costs. ... [I]t's an integrated system -- a system that takes long-term responsibility for its clients' health -- to deliver an impressive combination of high-quality care and low costs." McCain's plan, however, would "privatize and, in effect, dismantle the V.A." In his narrow-sighted focus on eliminating earmarks, McCain may also cut funding for military housing.

Our Humble Veterans Just May Get What They Deserve Thanks to Senators Jim Webb, D-VA and Chuck Hagel, R-Neb
By Leo Shane III, Stars and Stripes
Mideast edition, Thursday, May 1, 2008
WASHINGTON — Supporters of a bill to overhaul veterans’ education benefits are confident they can pass the legislation this year, even after the secretary of defense voiced his opposition to the measure Tuesday.
The legislation, introduced by Sens. Jim Webb, D-Va., and Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., would promise full four-year tuition at state universities plus a $1,000 monthly living stipend for all active-duty troops following their military service.
So far, 58 senators and more than 250 representatives have signed on as co-sponsors of the GI Bill legislation, and on Tuesday more than 300 lawmakers and veterans rallied outside the Capitol to gather additional support for the education benefits.
Both House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., spoke at the rally about the importance of better education benefits for returning troops, but neither offered no estimate for when the bill might be put up for a vote.
Webb said the measure could be attached to the 2009 Defense Authorization Bill or the upcoming supplemental budget, but so far no promises have been made to him.
“But we feel pretty good we can get this done this year,” he said. “We have a lot of support, and we’re very close to pulling this off.”
He dismissed concerns about another GI Bill overhaul proposed by Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., saying it falls short of what veterans need and expect.
The rival legislation would provide $14,000 to $18,000 a year for in-state tuition and a $500 yearly books stipend, less than the payouts under the Webb-Hagel measure. But Graham also expects the total cost of his overhaul will be significantly less than the more than $3 billion the full-tuition coverage is estimated to cost.
On Tuesday, Graham’s office released a letter from Secretary of Defense Robert Gates opposing the Webb-Hagel bill, saying it would undercut retention efforts and ignores department efforts to allow transferring of education benefits from troops to spouses and children.
In addition, President Bush on Tuesday promised to work with Congress on improving veterans benefits, highlighting administration-backed initiatives over the Webb-Hagel proposal, but reiterated plans to veto any supplemental budget bill which includes noncombat items.
But the measure has gained support from several prominent Republicans, including Sen. John Warner, R-Va., who spoke at the Capitol event about the importance of the GI Bill scholarship in his own career.
“We’re going to lead this fight and we’re going to win it,” he said, eliciting cheers from the assembled veterans.
The measure is also backed by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Military Officers Association of America, the Vietnam Veterans of American, the American Council on Education and two dozen other national groups.
Derek Blumke, president of Student Veterans of America, said most troops believe that their GI bill benefits will cover most of their postservice college expenses, but few actually graduate without significant student loan debt.
“The current benefit is a complete failure,” he said. “Our senators and congressmen have not yet carried out the will of the people.”

Suppot Our Troops - Support Our Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans
Here is something that will only take a moment of your time and then you can pass it on to all of your Friends who then can pass on to all of their Friends and so on and so on.
Together we really can make a difference so Please take a moment to sign the GI Bill Petition and let us all give back to all of Those who have gave so unselfishly of their Lives and Time for us so that we can sit our fat happy asses on our soft cushiony Sofas at night and sleep in a warm dry bed and eat something other than MREs.
Dear GI Bill Supporters,
Your response to our GI Bill petition has been overwhelming! Within a week, we collected over 20,000 signatures demanding John McCain co-sponsor the GI Bill for the 21st century. And our film, Why Won't McCain Sign the GI Bill?, received over 76,000 YouTube views. We will be delivering these signatures to Senator McCain on Monday, but before then we need one more push.
Please pass this petition on to your friends and urge them to sign. We need to give our message a little more heft to make sure McCain hears us loud and clear.
If Senator McCain cosponsors the GI Bill, it will signal other Republicans to do the same. The bill now has 51 cosponsors from both parties, and once it gets 60, it will pass to the President's desk. But, to get there, we need your help.
And when we deliver the petition Washington DC this Monday, we want our veterans to be there with us! If any vet wants to join in the delivery, e-mail info@votevets.org. Be sure to write "petition delivery" in the subject line.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Robert Greenwald and Jon Soltz

Effectiveness of Traffic Exchange Programs
I am quite sure that you are familiar with the Term "Traffic Exchange Program"
These are quite resourceful in drawing traffic to your Web Site and very Cost Efficient if you are working on a ShoeString Budget. You can sign up with Traffic Exchange Programs for free and Click your way to gaining Credits that you in turn can use to advertise your Web Site to other Traffic Exchange Members.
The thing I like most about using Traffic Exchange Programs is if I am too busy to sit here and look at other members advertisements then I am offered a lost cost way to purchase credits. I have to admit that I do cheat quite often given my Schedule. I do however make sure that I make time to do the clicking myself every now and then just to see what is being advertised so that I know I should get reasonable consideration for what it is that I am offering. If I find a Traffic Exchange Program that has a lot of Similar Programs to mine then I seek out a different Traffic Exchange. I do not want viewers to become immune and thereby just wait out their time before the next Advertisement pops up.
I did some reasearch today and ran across a terrific Article giving great pointers on using Traffic Exchange Programs.
I do hope that you will get out of this as much as I did. It just stood to confirm to me that I am on the right track. I always like to check and make sure that I am doing the right thing in my efforts to drive Traffic to my Websites.
How To Make Traffic Exchange Programs Work For You!
By Joe Rispoli
What do all websites need to be successful? Traffic! Do you know that one of the cheapest, easiest and quickest ways to generate traffic is by using traffic exchanges?
The way they work is that you earn credits by surfing other peoples websites. Your earned credits are then used to show other people your website. To join, you need to submit your name, email and website. Your website will then go into rotation with the other websites that have registered with that particular traffic exchange.
When surfing on a traffic exchange there is a counter that counts down a certain number of seconds and when the counter is done you have to click on a number to move to the next site. They operate on a credit system and you get credit by spending time on a particular website. Your credit gets reduced when another member of the exchange visits your website. Increasing your credit gives your website a more effective and wider reach.
A good tip is to use a multi-tab browser. This will allow you to surf many exchanges at the same time by running several websites in multiple tabs while only one window is open for viewing in your browser. The Firefox Browser and newer versions of Netscape will let you surf multiple exchanges at once.
Here are some more tips on how to get the most from traffic exchanges:
1. Try to use only about 3-5 good exchanges. It is difficult to keep up with too many and this will allow you to focus your efforts on productive advertising.
2. You must take the time to surf and build up credits. Plan to stick with it for a couple of months at least.
3. You can also advertise your traffic exchange referral links from one exchange to another and build your downline while also getting more free credits.
4. Do not just use your main website on the exchanges. Advertise additional pages off of your main website page that have special offers or other related services.
5. Be different and offer something for free, such as an ebook, software, etc. There is nothing wrong with being nice and offering people a free gift for visiting your website.
6. If your offering a network marketing or affiliate program then do yourself a favor and create your own opt-in form. Something new will attract more attention.
7. Leave the selling for another time. Try and get as many emails as possible and then worry about making the sale. Offer a newsletter related to your website.
When determining what traffic exchanges to use it is important that you are able to promote multiple URLs. You want the capability to promote other services or programs other then your main one. Since you will be using a number of traffic exchange programs you can promote one traffic exchange on another exchange. This will make it easier for you to get free credits by referring others. Do not forget that you also may want to be able to promote any affiliate programs that you may be involved with.
Some of the free traffic exchange sites may only let you add a few pages, but you can get around this by changing the ones you are promoting at any time even though it is more work. If a traffic exchange program is sending visitors to your website then the extra work is worth it.
As with any other form of advertising on the internet you have to do some research to determine the best traffic exchanges for your needs. Here are some helpful tips for finding good quality traffic exchanges:
1. Find out which ones rank high on Google, and also in the paid ads. A traffic exchange site that is worth your effort will be able to afford to get a high search engine ranking and be able to pay a lot of money for paid classified ads.
2. Use Alexa.com and check the rankings of the exchange sites. If a site has a high Alexa ranking, then they probably have lots of traffic. If you join that traffic exchange then you now have your website appearing on a highly visible site. For example, Trafficswarm has a high Alexa ranking.
3. You can try to find reviews online, but that may not be a good idea since people are going to promote a program because they want to sign you up through their referral link.
4. Select exchanges with many members and try to determine whether the exchange already has alot of websites that are similar to yours, if they do then move on!
5. Try to use traffic exchanges that have categories available for you to place your website in. This will give you more targeted traffic.
The real key to free traffic exchanges is that you do not have to upgrade or spend any money to buy credits. You can always stop using them if you do not get any results.
A good traffic exchange program that is free should be able to get you some results, if not then do not waste your time!
Even if you do not get lots of traffic, your site is being seen by real people and this helps to get your website and name in front of as many people as possible so that they may remember your website in the future.
For your website to be successful it needs to be seen by as many people and as many times as possible.

101 Tips To Avoid StartUp Pitfalls
Earlier today I ran across Small Business Opportunites Online Magazine click here and found this terrific article "101 Tips To Avoid StartUp Pitfalls" This article covers everything from choosing your Business to Tax Tips.
Since it is copyrighted and cannot be reproduced without written consent I have given you their link above. I strongly encourage you to check it out. You can purchase a subscription if you want but you don't have to in order to read this article or some of the other great Home Based Articles that are written.
I find my self these days hungry for any Home Based Business Reading Material I can get my hands on to ensure that I do succeed.
If you have already started up your Home Based Business you are finding out just like me, that Success is not happening Overnight. I am not running to my Mailbox to find Handfuls of Checks just waiting for me. I am not seeing thousands of Signups for my programs in a day.
What I am finding out is My Business is just starting from the Ground up. It is taking time to see my signups increase. It is taking time to see a check or two every now and then in my mailbox. It is taking time to see my traffic numbers on my websites increase. It is taking time for all of the Knowledge I am gaining to really seep into my thick head and apply it where and when and as needed.
On those days that I question myself "Is this really going to pay off and is this really worth it?" I remind myself it takes all living things time to grow and thrive.
Rome was not built in a day as a matter of fact Rome is still being built if you really thing about it and after how many Centures?, it takes a Baby from the time of inception to birth 9 months before it draws its' first breath and continues to grow every day of its' life, it takes an Elephant 22 months of Pregnancy before it gives Birth, See what I am saying?
Please don't give up, don't get discouraged, don't get tied into one way of thinking when there are a million and trillion other ways of doing the same thing, don't pout when after a week you see nothing just try harder. The more you are able to put into something the more you are going to get back.
So Tip Number 1. Choose a Focus that you Love and will enjoy doing for many moons to come.
Have a Great Evening.

Bush defends Iraq war five years on
Published: March 19 2008 16:22 | Last updated: March 19 2008 23:09
President George W. Bush on Wednesday said he would only order further troop reductions in Iraq if it would not “jeopardise” the improvement in security that has occurred since the military “surge” took effect last year.
Speaking at the Pentagon on the fifth anniversary of the Iraq invasion, Mr Bush said the war had been “longer and harder and more costly than we anticipated”. He also warned that the security gains in Iraq were “fragile and reversible”.
“We have learned through hard experience what happens when we pull our forces back too fast,” said Mr Bush. “The terrorists and extremists step in, they fill vacuums, establish safe havens and use them to spread chaos and carnage. Any further drawdown must not jeopardize the hard-fought gains.”
Mr Bush last year sent a “surge” force of 30,000 combat troops to Iraq to counter the spiralling sectarian violence that threatened to propel the country into civil war. While almost 4,000 US troops have died in Iraq, the number of successful attacks on US forces has declined dramatically since the surge took full effect last June. The level of Iraqi deaths has also seen a large drop.
Mr Bush was speaking three weeks before General David Petraeus, the top US commander in Iraq, is scheduled to report to Congress on the situation in Iraq. Gen Petraeus is expected to recommend that the US pause any further troop reductions to reassess conditions this summer following the withdrawal of the five surge combat brigades, which would leave at least 130,000 troops in the country.
While Gen Petraeus wants to delay further troop reductions, Admiral Mike Mullen, the chairman of the joint chiefs, General George Casey, the army chief of staff, and other senior military officials, are concerned about the impact long, repeated deployments are having on the military.
Gen Casey, who reportedly wants to reduce the number of combat brigades below the level of 15 that will remain after the surge, has warned about the risk of crossing an invisible red line beyond which the military would take a generation to repair.
Mr Bush on Wednesday credited the surge with having “opened the door to a major strategic victory in the broader war on terror”. While the military is concerned about insurgent groups in Iraq affiliated with Al-Qaeda, however, they are more concerned about areas along the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan where al-Qaeda has been regrouping.
At a time when the US public has become more focused on the state of the domestic economy than the “war on terror”, Mr Bush warned about the possible economic consequences of allowing “enemies to prevail” in Iraq.
“The violence that is now declining would accelerate and Iraq would descend into chaos,” Mr Bush said. “Al Qaeda would regain its lost sanctuaries and establish new ones - fomenting violence and terror that could spread beyond Iraq’s borders, with serious consequences to the world economy.’’
Senator Barack Obama, one of the two contenders for the Democratic presidential nominee, on Wednesday acknowledged that violence had declined in Iraq, but repeated his vow to end the war should he become president.
“We need to finish the fight against al-Qaeda. That is what I will do,” said Mr Obama. “Fighting a war without end [in Iraq] will not force the Iraqis to take responsibility for their new future … I will end this war.”

After 5 Years I still sit here and wonder how could so many Millions of People be so shallow and blinded by the fact: The Horrible Atrocities of 9/11, the Attack on America was brought on by Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban. Why has America (Her People) sat back for all of these years and not screamed at the top of our Lungs, Why in the Hell are we in Iraq? Why in the Hell is the Perpetrator of the 9/11 Devastation still running around? Why have we suffered such tremendous Loss in the Wake of the Iraq War? Why have we allowed ourselves to be continually led astray by our Fearless Leader? Fearless and our Leader are two words that definitely do not belong together. What has our Fearless Leader sacrificed for this which he has caused? Not a thing I say. Well, Fearless Leader I hope that at some point you will experience the long, deep, dark, sleepless nights that so many thousands and thousands of us have experienced as a result of your Decisions according to you and not in the People of Americas best interest.

To Each His Own
While I was disgruntled with the Advertising CoOp associated with this PIP Business this in no way is an indication that PIP Sites do not work. In fact pretty much anything can work if you work it.
This is the reason for "To Each His Own". We all have a degree of commitment to which we are willing to go the lengths on.
We all have a passion for something , A Product(s) and/or A Service(s) that we ourselves believe in and would have no problem in getting out there and promoting this Product(s)and/or Service(s) in whatever way is necessary to generate income for ourselves and to raise awareness about the Product(s)and/or Service(s).
If Ones' Passion is only Money then just about anything can be sold including a fake Deed to the Brooklyn Bridge.
My Passion is both Money and providing a Product and/or Service that is truly beneficial to bettering someones' Life in whatever way possible. However from time to time I do get caught up in the greed of Money itself and when this happens I usually get slapped in the face with a reminder and am brought back to the reality of it all.
In whatever you pursue it does take Hard Work and Dedication.
Working from Home does have its' advantages and disadvantages. One of the advantages is the flexibility of time and one of the disadvantages is when you don't work and put forth the effort you don't get paid.
So in making your decision on which type of Home Business you want to get involved with weigh out all of the pros and cons and make an informed decision and make a commitment to go to any lengths to succeed.
I can't say it enough before paying out any money do a search on the Business, look for Complaints, check into how long the Company has been in Business. Chances are if it is a reputable Business even though it may be an Internet Business they will be registered with the BBB. Some Businesses may not be registered with the BBB and that is ok, just make sure you do a thorough search.
Have a great and safe week.

Buyer Beware
You are so going to be learning from me What not to do because I have done it.
Recently I signed up with an Advertising Coop through a Business Venture that I am no longer with. (A PIP Site - Plug In Profit)
I was enthusiastic. I believed all of the hype about following the instructions (Duplicating as we now say in the Internet MLM Business Arena) and felt good about what I was doing.
I saw that I was not getting anywhere with this and cancelled my free website and every subscription I had signed up for through this PIP Site. I tried to cancel the one Subscription with the Advertising Coop and found nowhere on my backoffice of where I could do this. So I sent an email requesting Cancellation. I just got my bank statement in the other day and there were two charges from this company that caused my account to be overdrawn. To my knowledge there was nothing on the original order form indicating that this would be a monthly recurring charge. I went back to this site, my account was still active and once again I scoured the pages and pages in my back office and there was nothing in written form to indicate A. Cancel my account B. By placing this order you are agreeing to a monthly recurring payment,
I notified this Company by email once again and they were gracious enough to say that they would refund the money they charged and would cancel my account. I still have the overdraft charges though.
So In short I am just expressing my opinion and what I have discovered through Trial and Error.
Please take a moment before entering in your payment information to make sure that there is a Cancellation Notice easily visible to you and it is Prominently stated that this charge will be recurring unless you cancel it. If either of these things are missing rethink whether you want to do business with the Company or not. Make an informed decision Not a Tammy decision "Do It Now and get burned later"
Another great tool before you make a commitment to part with your Hard Earned Money is to google the Source. If there have been any problems rest assured that you will find out about it on Google. Again Make an informed decision.
Have a Great and Safe Weekend.

I Am Getting Off Course Here But Please Indulge Me
How can the Civilians of this Country on one hand say they support our Troops and on the other hand stand in fear of them when they come home not the same as when they went.
It is our Patriotic and Humanly Duty to embrace these Brave Men and Women who put their lives on the line for our Continued Safety and Freedom and offer support when and wherever we can. We must not allow this shameful War to play out in replay of the Vietnam War.
How can we in good conscience lay our heads down on a soft pillow every night knowing full well that Thousands of our brave Men and Women are suffering alone and no where to turn to? After they have given their all for this Country.
How can we in good conscience lay our heads down on a soft pillow at night while there are People out there trying to make it better for our Brave Men and Women and hitting brick walls of opposition and we not stand up and speak in support?
In following News such as this I am more convinced now than ever that we still apply the rule: As long as it doesn't affect my family then why bother?
Well to those who are selfish, shallow, greedy, self centered Wake UP!!!! If it werent' for those who have volunteered to lay their lives on the line, to risk coming back suffering from Mental Illness or Physical Handicaps or not coming back at all, this very well could be you or yours and you should be Grateful that the Draft has not been re-instated due to the overwhelming numbers of Americans who just want to do their part without any Glory.Just My thoughts and thank you for taking the time to read the below Article.
GROUP HOUSING FOR VETS RAISES CONCERNS
GUERNEVILLE, Calif. (Map, News) - Merry Lane, a cul-de-sac shaded by redwoods in Sonoma County wine country, would seem a pleasant place to recover from the psychic wounds of war. Nadia McCaffrey's dream is to set up a group home there for veterans plagued by post-traumatic stress disorder. But she is running into stiff resistance from the neighbors. They not only object to the brand-new structure itself, which looks like a four-story apartment house wedged amid their cabins, they are also worried that deranged veterans will move in.At a community meeting in December, "one person was concerned that even firecrackers would set these people off," said Andrew Eckers, 54, who lives across the street.McCaffrey, whose son was killed in Iraq in 2004, said she has tried to reassure the neighbors, but "they are afraid of it because they don't want to understand it."Projects similar to McCaffrey's have cropped up in other communities across the country, with some also raising concerns from neighbors, in part because of the many news accounts of traumatized veterans committing suicide or murder."We're all, frankly, failing in properly educating society about what PTSD is and what its effects are," said Jon Soltz, an Iraq war veteran and chairman of VoteVets. org, a veterans advocacy group.McCaffrey wants to set up at least three group homes around the country where vets with PTSD could live temporarily, and virtually for free, while they study at a college or work at a farm. Donations are paying for the projects, she said.In Guerneville, a community of about 2,500 where the Russian River draws tourists in the summer, the light green building nestled into a carved-out hillside stands empty. The county issued a stop-work order because the project exceeded the scope of the plans that were filed, said Shems Peterson, Sonoma County supervising building inspector. Among other things, the project had unauthorized plumbing. Also, a wall meant to divert landslides was deemed insufficient.Neighbors have raised complaints about the cutting down of several redwoods to make way for the home, the lack of parking and the size of the building, which would house a half-dozen veterans."They are inappropriate buildings for the neighborhood. They're not single-family residences," said Mark Mondragon, 41. "This could have been Grandmothers for Harmonious Peace and it wouldn't have made a difference."Jan De Wald, who lives a couple houses down Merry Lane, said too many questions remain unanswered about the project, including who sits on the board, who is the president and what is the staffing. Most residents said worries about unhinged veterans are not driving the opposition. Eckers emphasized that his primary concern is that the project would open the door to more apartment buildings. But he also raised questions about the screening and supervision of the veterans."Generally PTSD guys are normal people," Eckers said. But he added: "Some are shell-shocked and they need to be in an institution."McCaffrey said screening would be done by veterans and a psychiatrist, and supervision would come from volunteers from a nearby veterans clinic."We will not accept anyone who's not completely functional," she said.Rogelio Martinez, 26, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan as an Army Airborne Ranger, said he was diagnosed with PTSD and sought counseling at the urging of his older brother, a military officer. But he said he would have benefited from the type of group housing that McCaffrey is proposing."If it wasn't for my brother, I might be one of those homeless vets on the street," Martinez said in a telephone interview from San Antonio. "A place like that would be ideal for a person like me or a person in my shoes who didn't have someone to lean on like an older brother to get help.

Affiliate Marketing - Top Tips For Success
Below is just such a Like Minded Individual and she has written this article so straight to the point that I wanted to share it with you.

Affiliate marketing is the new frontier of marketing. Created as a way to bridge the gap between vendors and consumers, this type of network marketing allows small businesses and entrepreneurs to spread the word about their products without needing huge budgets. Affiliate marketing harnesses the power of everyday people, in everyday places, to endorse and sell items as a home based business.
Hundreds of programs allow marketers access to thousands of products. With so much choice, it is important to know techniques to be successful.
Know Your Products
The best way to sell products is to have used them! You will sound most enthusiastic and convincing if you have actually tried the product yourself, and have compared it to other products.
Start Small
Thousands of choices make affiliate marketing overwhelming to begin. Choose one program to work with first and branch out from there. Get to know the ins and outs of your program, and use every tip, technique and service they offer to your advantage.
Develop a List
All sales programs, no matter the technique, start with a list of prospects. Once you interest a few people, if they become excited, they will help your list expand! Look for a good list building program, it will be a good investment. The way you will earn commission on your sales is by the affiliate link you will be given to enter into emails, sales pitches, and articles. You will have your own code within your program so that they can track sales to you.
Be Creative
Eye-catching, funny and interesting writing will enhance your email pitches. Make sure that the tone of your communication matches the product you are promoting. Promotions about childrens toys will have a different tone from ones about cooking utensils! If you are promoting educational products, such as books, DVDs, ebooks and more, then good writing is very essential.
Find a Community
Sales people of all types are competing with each other. Despite this fact, there are still many forums where people discuss their strategies, successes and what to avoid. Find an internet community of supportive marketers to share your experiences with. You will learn a great deal from experienced marketers!
Be Persistent
As with any venture, whether learning to ice skate, or learning to read, success does not come overnight. It is important to be patient and persistent. Think about the world of affiliate marketing and your participation in it as a leisurely swim, rather than a high dive!

Stick With What Works
Recently I started weeding out the programs that I had signed up for to make incredible amounts of money in a short time and started focusing on the one or two that have a proven track record and have been established for years. While the income generated from these 2 programs are trickling in at the moment I am stepping back and taking a look at the big picture. I am now realizing that it is not the instant gratification that is going to sustain me but the long term range of built residual income that will afford me the independence that I am desperately seeking.
I fell into the trap of the PIP Sites and signed up for one only to discover that each step I took cost more money but in order to succeed with the PIP Sites this was imperative. I was given a 30 Day To Success Guide. Each Day cost me anywhere from 29.95 to 99.99 to achieve the promised success. I reached day 15 of this program and saw that my bank account had dwindled down to nothing. A light bulb went off in my head, what was I thinking? I was not achieving success of getting loads and loads of money, I was however succeeding in providing the Mentor with loads and loads of money. I stopped myself dead in my tracks and started applying the tips to my own businesses that will bring profit for me and not someone else. Instead of signing up for various ways of marketing myself and my Businesses and paying for it, I turned it all around and have found free ways to achieve the very same thing that I was for 15 days straight paying for. I have seen my website traffic and signups increase and have not paid a thing to accomplish this.
The one simple tool I use is called GOOGLE, I can query anything and get exactly what I want and it doesn't cost. With a little bit of research and reading all the way through I am finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. There are no secrets to Internet Marketing and you certainly don't have to pay for the so called secrets. Common Sense is all that is required. There are marketing methods that I do pay for but I am making sure that I am benefiting from this payout as well.
I am having to constantly remind myself of the K.I.S.S. Method because one can definitely get off track with all of the very attractive offers out there.
Stay FOCUSED on your GOALS not Someone Elses' and You Will SUCCEED
Starting Your Home Business
In order to begin your home business you have to make plans to get started. Without a plan you go nowhere or you go in circles accomplishing nothing. In order to begin your business on the right path you should come up with a business plan, a marketing plan and a home plan. Your business plan is a necessary item that will be needed for loan applications, the hiring of employees, for business affiliates and personal goal setting. You want to have information such as what your business is named and what the mission of your business is. What is your product or service and who is it being made for. Who is your target customer base? What will it cost to make your product and what can you sell it for? What will be your end profit? These key pieces of information are needed especially when you require start up funds. These can be funds from a bank loan or an affiliate who is willing to become a financial backer of your company. Create a binder or portfolio for your business plan. Make copies and keep this accessible for times when it is needed.
Included in your business plan should be a marketing plan or an advertising campaign. How do you plan to provide the consumer public with information about your business, product or service? Will you be renting a billboard, running newspaper advertisements, magazine ads, television, radio and so on? Will you have a website or be running Internet ads such as those sponsored by Google ad sense or Microsoft ad center? What is the cost of each advertisement media? Do you have the funding for these advertising efforts or do you need outside funds? This once again shows any outside parties that you have done the needed research to know how you plan to reach the consumer public for sales. You can also include the percentages or charts that show success of similar advertising campaigns and how well your marketing choices will relate to your business.
A home plan is for the benefit of you and your family while your business takes shape. You have to be realistic in the facts that a business does not become a hit success over night. Money, time and effort are needed before you will see a solid flow of income from your home business. You need to be aware of your household budget per week and month. Be sure that you have at a minimum three months worth of savings to allow for household expenses including utilities, food, gas, hygiene items etc. This will allow you to apply other funds to your business without creating strife in your home. You may also want to maintain a part time job position at your current job or elsewhere. If your spouse works this may not be required. The exact plans for a household will vary on the specific family needs. Preparation is key to a successful business start up as well as successful home life as the transition from an outside job to a home based career take place.

The 10 Deadly Sins of an Affiliate Marketing Article
At this point in time there is not an online entrepreneur left who does not recognize the immense power and promise that the use of an affiliate marketing article offers. Sure, text links and banner ads are great, but when it comes to creating the kind of advertising vehicle that consumers will hold on to and even pass on to others, you cannot beat article marketing! Of course, like any other good thing there are pitfalls to avoid.
As a matter of fact, the 10 deadly sins of an affiliate marketing article must be avoided at all cost, lest your company’s reputation will suffer!
1. Whatever you do with your affiliate marketing article, do not use it to spam a blog or a forum. Some self proclaimed marketers have attempted to use such articles as forum posts and while they might write different introductions for the article to make it look like an ad hoc posting in response to another forum poster, within a few short sentences it becomes painfully obvious that the post is little more than an unwelcome sales pitch.
2. Unless you are a seasoned wordsmith, have your affiliate marketing article ghostwritten. The sheer volume of badly written articles – be it diction, grammar, or punctuation – is legion and there is little more embarrassing than having your customers point out a number of mistakes and error.
3. Fact-check your articles. This is vital when you use statistical data but also quotes.
4. Keep it pithy. 400 to 500 words are more than sufficient to write a worthwhile piece of non fiction to market your company, good, or service. Exceeding the 800 word count is pushing it.
5. Do not put all of your advertising eggs in one basket but instead commission (if you use a ghostwriter) a number of articles that look at the topic and product form a number of different angles. This puts volume behind your marketing campaign and while one approach may not appeal to your readers, another one might have just the hook you need to get the reader to turn into a buyer.
6. Do not overdo the pitch in your affiliate marketing article. Sure, you want everyone to know that your products and company at the cat’s meow, but unless you tempter substance with advertising, you will not find too many readers.
7. Advertise one thing only per article. Choose your product, your company, or an email newsletter you are offering for free. Cutting down on the things marketed permit for the development of a great strategy throughout the article.
8. Forgetting to include an opt-in link to your mailing list or email newsletter subscription database is perhaps the most egregious of the 10 deadly sins of an affiliate marketing article. Each article that is not offering that option simply is not working hard enough for you!
9. Having too many articles that differ in tone. While some articles may lend themselves to be spunky but intellectual, the failure to have your article ghostwritten by one writer will lead to a number of different skill levels to craft your work. Instead, request that one freelancer be given the assignment to make sure the tone remains similar.
10. Last but not least, cutting and pasting freely available material from the Internet is a deadly sin that might not get you in trouble, but it will show that your company has nothing new to offer. This is not the impression you want your clientele to have of you, your product, or the company you represent!

Five Reasons Why Affiliate Marketing Articles Generate Sales
Affiliate marketing articles generate sales and even though this medium has been overlooked until just recently, it is finally beginning to truly take off. Thanks in part to the freelance writers who create top notch content in which entrepreneurs can embed links at will, there are five reasons why affiliate marketing articles generate sales to such an extent as to even astound those who track online sales performance data for a living:
1. An article – as opposed to a banner ad or text link – enables the entrepreneur to put into about 400 to 500 words a plethora of reasons why the purchase of a product, use of a service, or choice of one company over another ensures personal satisfaction to the consumer. Much like the tried and true sales psychology of the 1980s that played on the fact that men sought to be admired while women wanted affirmation, affiliate marketing articles enable creative writers to generate these feelings in their readers and thus make your business stand out head, shoulders, and torso above the rest.
2. Affiliate marketing articles provide your company the unique opportunity to fulfill basic consumer needs, such as the assurance of pleasure and the avoidance of discomfort – either physical or fiscal. Tying together your product or company with a promise of gain or an assurance of safety from problems not only persuades potential clients to give your company a second look, but more often than not will spare you from being lumped in with the competition that has not yet caught on to the marketing opportunities offered by this medium.
3. “Free” is a word that no consumer can resist and if your affiliate marketing articles reference a freebie of any kind you can be sure that they get read! Offer a free coupon to a good or service from your business or perhaps a free e-book, stickers, or any other goodies that are cheap to manufacture and send out but create a sense of goodwill with your consumer base. The results are amazing and make your product irresistible!
4. Savvy entrepreneurs have used their affiliate marketing articles to fulfill the most basic human need of belonging to something greater than oneself. Thus, many such articles contain free membership offers to clubs or email groups, private chat rooms or action committees. In some cases marketers have chosen to offer exclusive membership to focus groups where for little if any remuneration the consumer would speak out on marketing trends and things that work and do not. This of course is highly profitable for the marketer and fulfills the basic need of belonging the consumer has, making your business the one website she or he will visit time and again.
5. Unlike banner ads or text links, affiliate marketing articles provide the perfect sales vehicle to deliver a deadline based pitch. Spell out over the course of 400 words why missing this once in a decade sale will be the bane of their existence, and before long you find that sales are increasing dramatically!

Can You Build A Home Business On A PPC Affiliate Program?
PPC is affiliate lingo for pay per click. In simplest terms, a PPC program option is one of the most sought after affiliate programs today, only surpassed by a favorable ad impression program. If you are accepted as a pay per click affiliate, you will get paid each and every time that a visitor to your site sees the affiliate link and clicks on it. This is a far cry from the old way of doing business where payment would only be rendered if the click led to an actual sale. Thus, pay per click is considered online to be one of the easiest ways of making money yet the questions of whether or not you can build a business on a PPC affiliate program is not as easily answered in the affirmative as you might think.
There are serious limitations associated with a pay per click affiliate program, first and foremost the need for visitors that will visit your website in droves. The payouts are ridiculously small and in order to truly capitalize on this kind of program, you visitors must decide by the hundreds and the thousands to click the links that have them leaving your site only to land on the affiliate business’ website. For smaller webmaster and also small business owners who rely on web traffic to sell their own products, this kind of affiliate program is the kiss of death. If you are successful in beefing up your website visitors but they leave your site to visit the other business, you may be remunerated with a couple of pennies for each visitor that does so, but conversely you do not know how many hundreds of dollars in sales you have lost on your site simply because you sent the visitor somewhere else.
Additionally, if you consider that those webmasters whose web traffic is more limited may not have so many folks clicking on the links and thus the payout may be delayed for months on end until a threshold is reached, the quick and ready cash that made these programs so desirable in the first place is not as achievable as was first assumed or perhaps represented by those all in favor of the program.
Yet it is still possible to build a business on a pay per click affiliate program if you have the savvy to set up a website with that stated goal in mind and have the wherewithal to execute it in such a way that the site will get copious visitors while at the same time be considered valuable enough to the search engines to rank it fairly high. You may be surprised to learn that the old way of doing business via the gateway site is no longer acceptable but a similar concept that is now heavily capitalizing on link ads embedded in article marketing methods have shown sufficient promise to have webmasters rethink and redo their sites in droves.
Before your alter the look, feel, and stated goal of your site, make sure you take the time to research not only the company that is offering the PPC affiliate program in which you are interested, but ensure that you are also well versed with consumer trends, consumer behavior and get a feel for what is hot and what is on its way out.

Creating a Home Office with No Room For One
When you have a home business, the most important thing that you need to set up first is going to be your actual home office. No matter what type of business you have, you have to be able to set up a home office – because otherwise you will not be able to conduct business. However, many people are not blessed to have an extra room in their home simply to work in. So, how do you find room for a home office when you simply don't have room for one?
The first thing that you have to do when you are looking for room for your home office is to make sure that you understand how much room you are actually going to need. What are you doing for your home business? Are you simply working online, which means that all you need room for is a desk and computer? Or do you need work space, like a large table? Do you need storage room as well? All of these things are important so that you can make the most out of the space that you need.
If all that you need is a desk and computer, you have it easy. This is going to be the best way that you have to get a real home office, just for yourself. You can find room for a desk and a computer just about anywhere – the corner of a bedroom or dining room. The trick is that you have to be able to separate this from the rest of your home. You might not think that it is important to do this, but if you cannot separate your home office area from the rest of your home you will find that it is too difficult to separate the home business itself from the rest of your life, which is very important in order to run your home business successfully. So, when you are looking at your home office space, you have to have it separated.
If all that you need is a desk and computer, you can separate this very easily. Find a roll top desk or a desk with doors that will close. That way, you can shut down your office when you are done with work for the day. This is something that you can do to make it easier on you, and it is something that you will be able to do quite easily as well.
If you need more room for your home business, you might have a problem. In small houses, or in houses where you have a spouse and kids and pets, you are going to r un into trouble. But remember that as long as you can find an area to use that can be separate, you will be ok. Think about using a corner of the basement or garage for this. You can separate areas with room dividers, or even with sheets hung from the ceiling. No matter what, you should be able to make your home office a separate place.

Ensure Your Website Will Be A Success
Rather your business has a physical storefront or if your business is run entirely on the Internet, a well built website can make or break business success. There are some tips and guidelines that can assist you in creating a website that is sure to please. In order to achieve this, there are five areas that you want to focus on when creating your site. These areas include a site that is welcoming, clear, customer service, product details and affiliate links. In the next paragraph each of these areas will be discussed to provide a clear definition of each.
Inviting/Welcoming
When a customer enters your site the first impression is visual. You want the colors and print to offer an inviting feel. The first glimpse at your site can lead to further reading or a quick click of the back button. Make sure that you design your sites theme around your product or business. For example: if you have a website that offers children’s products you want a light feel. Colorful and carefree should be the tone of your site. You wouldn’t want monochromatic colors and not photos. You have to fit the feel of the site to the product as well as your target audience.
Clear and Understandable
This area is similar to the above example in the fact that you are once again basing your site set up on your target audience. If you have a business site, be it informational or service offer, it will be more professional and eloquent. If your site is for example a homework help site for teens you want it to appear less adult like but not childlike either. You wouldn’t want to use baby talk but you wouldn’t want to carry words on your site that a teen would have to pull out a dictionary for. Websites are all about suiting your customers likes and needs.
Customer Service
A customer service area should be included. Either a phone number or email address to send questions, suggestions or concerns to. If a customer feels that you want to cater to them they will be much more pleased with your site and become a return visitor. Be sure to set up an auto-responder with your email. This sends an immediate reply to your customers address assuring them that you have received their email, that you appreciate their time to contact you, and a time frame in which you will be able to provide a response to their message. This gives customers a sense of comfort. They see that you are a professional site and they will look forward to hearing from you.
Product or Service Details
The number one thing that will turn a customer away is if they feel that you are hiding or have simply left out information. If your product is appealing enough people will pay any price. If your product seems appealing but they are left with unanswered questions they are likely to visit another business site. If possible provide a product photo, size, shape, color etc. If you are selling a service be specific enough that a customer fully understands a product without rambling on unnecessarily. If they know what they are buying they will buy it.
Affiliate Links
Carrying affiliate links shows a customer that you are not just a ruthless sales person, but that you generally care that they find what they are looking for. If your site sells skin care products and there is a site that offers similar products that you do not carry, this link offers customer the chance to find exactly what they are looking for. They may not purchase a product the first time around, but if they remember your site was helpful they are likely to return. They may even spread news of your site through word of mouth. You just received yourself some free advertising.
If your site is appealing over all and it is truly designed with your target audience in mind than your site will be sure to be a success and create a rise in business profit.
Create Product Appeal Through Focusing On Customers Benefits
When it comes to selling any item from vitamins to cosmetics, it’s not truly about the product itself, but it is instead about what the particular product can do for the customer. Will the product make life easier or more enjoyable? Will the use of the product allow a customer to gain something emotional such as a sense of pride, beauty or happiness? Think over your product and ask these questions about it. For example if you are selling a travel package, you’ll be able to say this product allows you to fill a desire to travel. It allows you to gain global perspective as you relax and refresh yourself. The benefit is to the customer not the product, company or sales representative. This will draw in your customer.
You will next have to prove to your customer why the product you are offering is better than a similar product of a lesser price. If you can prove that the quality of your item makes up for the higher price, you will win the sale. Consider the numerous mineral based make up companies popping up in stores and online. Know the facts about your product. In the area of mineral make up, its all natural, its healthy for the skin, it provides a more complete effect to professional attire and can increase your self-confidence. Be able to compare your product against at least one competitor by saying our product is slightly higher in prices because the minerals in the product are the purest minerals without any contamination from human hands. If you can justify the price for an item or product the customer will make the purchase.
By following such suggestions your sales techniques will improve and sales will increase, though you will find there is still going to be a handful of customers that will simply refuse to by any product no matter how useful or well priced it may be, etc. The customers who purchase your products will out weight the customers who refuse or are uninterested. A sale is simply about communicating with a customer and informing them on the ways a product can relate to daily needs. Check out http://www.Just-Home-Business.com.
Here are a few tips to assist you increasing your sales success:
* Remove any unnecessary information. Keep your sales pitch simple so that your possible customer understands what your offer is in a short amount of time. Time is precious keeping this in mind.
* Be sure that you have a full understanding of your product. Be prepared to answer any questions about your product including price, materials or other details. Customers will be appreciative and trustworthy because of your complete product knowledge
* Keep the ordering process as easy as possible. Limit the need for any unnecessary paperwork; provide contact information by an email address or business card. If a customer is interested but busy this can help to generate a sale that can be completed later in the day.
* Carry sample products at all times. You don’t have to have a trunk full of merchandise, but samples are a really helpful aid in completing a sale.Adding these tips to your usual sales techniques can prove to be a positive move towards increasing your sales and over all profit.

Choosing A Home Business
When you find yourself mulling over the opportunity to leave the usual career for a home business, it can be overwhelming just to narrow down what area of home business you wish to pursue. You can choose to either work from home selling or marketing another company’s merchandise, you can create and sell your own merchandise or you can provide a service for an outside company. Asking yourself a set of questions can lead you to making your decision.
Marketing Outside Products
There are numerous companies who hire representatives to work from home marketing their products or services from home. This can be anything from marketing vacation packages to offering vitamins and nutritional supplements. The key to making this successful home business choice is having true faith in the product or service you are offering. Research the item, find testimonials, and even try a sample of the item for yourself. If you see that the product is worthy of your time and effort you will feel more positive about your choice. You will be able to offer this item to others and feel pride in doing so. Asking yourself if you have faith in this product will make this choice worthwhile.
Marketing Your Own Products
Whether you are crafty with wood, paint or clay you can take your talent and put it to use as a moneymaker. Once your products are made you can advertise them online through an e-store. Creating a website is simple and cost efficient. You can offer products, take orders and payments all at your website. You have to ask yourself if you would enjoy making these items continuously as your source of income. If you can answer yes, this choice is for you.
Providing Services For Outside Companies
If you have the tools and knowledge to provide a service for another company you can create a helpful and effective home business. Accounting services, tutoring, music lessons, etc. can all be wonderful services you can provide for an outside business or group of customers. You have to ask yourself if you are interested in working with others, be it children or business affiliates. If you have good communication skills this choice may be best suited to your home business desires.
There are many opportunities available to work from home. Daycare providers of children, cleaning services and alteration services are only a few of the other opportunities available. If you are requiring ideas to spark your job choices you can perform online searches or check out the home business section of your local library. These resources can provide inspiration to get you thinking of what really interests you about the idea of a home business. You can find tips on making your choice as well as tips on the beginning process for your home business. The main part to your choice should be that you enjoy doing what you do and can see yourself performing these tasks on a daily basis for years to come and are satisfied with this.

Business Plan Should Show Action Beyond The Plan
Putting together a business plan can be a time-consuming effort in futility if you forget the main ingredient of the plan. Before any plan can be effective, it has to have the means of providing the execution to make the plan work. With prescribed actions to execute the steps in the business plan, all it will be is a list of hopes and dreams.
For example, a business plan may stipulate the company will sell a thousand widgets every day in order to bring in enough money to meet payroll and other expenses. It may even go so far as to project who will sell them but if the plan does not stipulate how they will be sold and, more importantly to whom, the plan is nothing more than a dream. Execution is the principal means behind any valued plan, detailing who will do what, when and how to allow the plan to be scripted completely.
On the other hand, any business can be planned to death. Meaning entirely too much time is spent on putting a plan on paper and never putting it into action. Even a great business plan is useless unless a timeline is attached to every step of the plan to put it into motion and follow through on making it work.
Another example is in assigning tasks to a group under the supervision of one person. By sitting down with that person and discussing the project, it can be agreed as to what tools will be needed to get the job done, how many people will be required to complete it in a specified time frame and at what cost. By enlisted the help of the individual in charge in putting the plan together, that person has a vested interest in making sure it is done on time and within budget.
Once the plan is on paper and put into action, there has to be a certain amount of follow-up to insure the project is going as planned and if any adjustments are needed they can be made before it is too late. After the first few days, the supervisor can be asked about the project and if everything looks good and they claim everything is going according to plan and is on schedule, it probably is. If they hedge about being ale to get done on time and admit there have been underestimates made about how long it will take, they can have input on what else is needed to remain on schedule.
If the supervisor continues to express optimism of being able to get done on time and the owner sees that it is becoming more obvious it is not going to happen, they may need to reassess their choice of the person in charge and hold them accountable for not being on schedule. With their buy-in from the beginning as part of the planning stage and their help in determining what is needed, they cannot pass fault back to the business owner for not giving them what they need to get the job done. It would be their failure to execute the plan to make it work and should be held responsible.

Yesterdays' Failures are Todays' Successes
It occured to me later on that night "Oh gosh when I am tired, frustrated, fed up, not feeling well I can give up but my Husband can't, literally can't otherwise the repercussions of his actions would have grave consequences. I was taught a great lesson that day in that no matter what kind of day I am having in relation to my PIP Business I cannot give up. Just because I didn't sign anyone up, just because I didn't make a sale, just because the money I spent on an ad did not return the results I had anticipated, just because my Commissions are not looking that great, this is no excuse to throw my hands up and have a heart attack so to speak.
I take each day as it comes, whatever did or didn't happen yesterday in no way should reflect on what is going to happen or not today. I pledge each day to make the same commitment to growing my PIP Business as my Husband does to the Corps, Country and Flag.
Ok, so I said it would be a short story I am sorry for being so long winded.
